Training Philosophy As a military veteran, I had fantastic opportunities to follow my life-long passion for the martial arts, including four years of intensive training in Japan. Martial arts training in a military environment gives one a unique prospective on the value of realistic combat training. Jissenkan Aikibudo is the culmination of those training and life experiences.
A dojo is a place one goes to mitigate rather than build his or her ego. We are not concerned with titles, trophies or contests. These things will not add to the value of one's life...and they will not save you in an actual confrontation.
Martial arts training should be hard because life is hard. This is how we learn to apply these principles in every day life.
